Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the 5,000 year old system that when the human body is kept in a harmonious balance, then health and wellness is naturally maintained.

Qi is the life force that flows through the human body providing vitality, while regulating physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. This Qi is conducted along pathways called meridians which is conducted between the surface of the body and the internal organs. When the flow of Qi along these meridians is disrupted, disease and pain can manifest due to this imbalance. Through acupuncture we aim to regain this balance, and by doing this health and wellness are restored.

Essential Wellness - AcupunctureAcupuncture is used to treat a wide range of illnesses, as well as improving and maintaining health and wellness. Acupuncture is based on the theory described above where energy flows throughout the body in different meridians, or pathways, and organ systems. When there is an imbalance, disease and pain can manifest. Through acupuncture we encourage the body to promote natural healing and functioning. Acupuncture stimulates circulation, influences the autonomic nervous system, releases neurotransmitters which transmit nerve impulses to the brain, as well as stimulates the release of pain-relieving endorphins.

Acupuncture is widely supported by Western Medical Doctors as well as you can see in this WebMD article.

In addition, many insurance providers also cover portions of an acupuncture visit: Report: Insurance Coverage for Acupuncture on the Rise.

Chinese Orthopedic Massage, a form of deep tissue massage, has been used for centuries to improve many health concerns. It can improve circulation, joint range-of-motion, and flexibility in the shoulder, neck, hips, knees, ankles, wrists, etc. It can also reduce many common ailments such as stress, muscles aches and pains – even anxiety and depression.
